The Institutions and Organisations
featured in Season One
OUT OF THE HIVE: The Hive [Mentioned from Season One to Season Three] Government listening post, where Beckett is initially employed. Literally a hive of high-technology computer equipment: all phone conversations are routinely monitored and the Mainframe boosts an impressive array of computer software. However, it is a relatively simple task to "hack" into this computer, as Ros demonstrates. Security is also less than efficient, and Ed has a relatively easy task when asked to break in and retrieve a DAT tape for Beckett.
OUT OF THE HIVE: Gizmos [Mentioned from Season One to Season Three] The company owned by Ros, whose initial business is the selling of covert listening equipment. Based in a factory unit, the company occupies two levels. A huge area full of video games and diversions serves as a focal point for the employees, whilst Campbell herself has a massive office dominated by a RAID Computer system with software designed by Dave Young. Sealed by the Bureau of Weapons Technology it is a relatively simple task for Beckett and Ed to break in. The company has an off-site backup facility, which is conveniently destroyed in a fire prior to Blattys visit

Headed by Roland Blatty, the Bureau is a top-secret organisation formed to police and supervise weapons exports and development. Their first assignment is to shut down Cyberscope, who they suspect are illegally selling arms to foreign parties. Very little is known about the Bureau at this stage.

It is aboard this cruiser that a foreign regent is assassinated, and outside headquarters a voice-activated bomb also kills Admiral Lansdale. Beckett served in Marine Command before being court martialed and discharged.
DOWN AMONG THE DEAD MEN: Kamen & Ross International finance house, whose Head of Security Graham Hurry employs the team when he suspects ex-employee Bryan Brody of planning to defraud his ex-employers. DOWN AMONG THE DEAD MEN: Jacobs Doyle Secretive diamond merchants with a very exclusive clientele, Jacobs Doyle are unwittingly the target of Brodys fraud, when his wife Juliet buys a large amount of diamonds using a phoney money transfer. SHOTGUN WEDDING: SSD (Special Services Department) [Mentioned from Season One to Season Three] Run by Commander Wence, SSD is so secret very few people even know of the organisations existence. Their methods are not exactly cutting edge, relying often on numbers and brute force to get the job done. Wence has little time for Beckett and his team regarding them as amateurs. Their offices are located at the top of an office building that Beckett has no trouble breaking into

Based on two floors the company also boasts a sophisticated time lock safe with the addition of password control that can only be operated by Lennox himself, a feature that almost causes his own demise.
MANNA FROM HEAVEN: Hennessy Brock plc
Massive food giants who occupy a large high rise building. Very little is known about them, except that their Research Director Zander is desperate to obtain the secret of Phodex from Lennox.
MANNA FROM HEAVEN: JBS Security [Mentioned from Season One to Season Two] Security consultants to Hennessy Brock, and for the Water pumping station where Sally is killed.
